- Canadian Association of Police Governance
The Canadian Association of Police Governance is a federal organization that provides training and conferences for police services boards and advocates on behalf of Canada’s boards for change in the area of police governance.
- Halton Regional Police Service
The Halton Regional Police Services Board provides strategic governance and oversight to the Halton Regional Police Service. The Halton Region Police Service provides policing services to the people of Halton Region.
- Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services
The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services oversees policing and public safety in Ontario.
- Ontario Association of Police Services Boards
The Ontario Association of Police Services Boards is a provincial organization that provides training for police services boards, hosts annual conferences, and advocates on behalf of Ontario’s boards for change in the area of police governance.
- Ontario Civilian Police Commission
The Ontario Civilian Police Commission is responsible for ensuring adequate and effective policing services are provided in a fair and accountable way.
- Office of the Independent Police Review Director
The OIPRD provides a process for public complaints against the policies and services of a police service and/or the conduct of an officer.
- Police Services Act
The Police Services Act is provincial legislation that governs policing and police services boards in Ontario.
- The Special Investigations Unit
The Special Investigations Unit is a civilian body that conducts criminal investigations into situations involving police and civilians that have led to serious injury or death or allegations of sexual assault.
